So, are you like me? Think you can "fix" it ALL? If you could just discover the answer to this question, and that question, and the "why" of everything that comes across your path?? Will you then be peaceful and able to solve every issue that presents itself??
Yup, that's me! A self-proclaiming General in God's Army! Tough, able to handle whatever comes my way...just armed with a pocket knife and a pipe cleaner...stand aside MacGuyver!!!
But what is God asking us to do? Trust, Obey, follow...does that sounds like we need to be always on the defensive, ready to slice and dice any and everything in our path? Yes, He wants us to armor up - stand ready, stand firm...in HIM!! Not in US! and don't get me wrong - we CAN do all things...THROUGH CHRIST! Not through US!
Okay, so why is it so hard for so many of us to simply do as He commands? Trust, obey, follow....wow! For those of us "in charge" that actually sounds like a relaxing day! What's up? Why can't we turn it all over?
Society has made submission a dirty word. I am discovering that it can be quite freeing. Not everything depends on ME making the exact right decision at the exact right time! It depends on me making only ONE right decision: the decsion to follow Christ. With that we pray for guidance, and trust that He has spoken, I have heard, and just follow through with what I have heard! Now that is trust!
If you have made your decision to follow Christ - then trust that you hear Him, obey what He has spoken to you, and follow His Word!
I, for one, am ready and willing to take my family forward into the deepest parts of living for God by submitting my "war medals" over to Him - the One who actually fought the battles. He deserves ALL honor and glory! I will happily submit to His authority with no question...
A general only for my family in the ranks of God's Army.
pray with me:
"Father, God, please forgive me if I have put my ways above Your ways. I submit myself fully to You, for guidance, strength, and comfort and reassurance that I hear You, and follow your commands. Thank You for speaking to Me through Your Word, and in my heart. From this day forward, Lord, I will trust and obey"
Let me know if that prayer was helpful to you....I know I needed it!!! and I just might need it again....Day by day....
